More info

DSIGNIO is a product design studio located in Madrid. It was founded in 2002 by Alberto Bejerano and Patxi Cotarelo, both industrial designers with an M.A. in interior design.

Before they created DSIGNIO, both partners built up experience working for studios that have been awarded national design awards, such as Lievore Altherr Molina and Benedito Design, or else working with vehicle designer Francisco Poladera, at Punt Mobles and at Lotus-Festina.

Over the years, DSIGNIO has been singled out for several awards, with three nominations for the best Spanish design of the year at the Delta Awards, and a nomination for the best young designer of the year by Elle Decor magazine.

Mare by Dsignio

MARE by DSIGNIO is inspired by Mediterranean woven fibres–wickerwork baskets, straw hats, cane roofs, brushwood fences and esparto rope–, natural fibres traditionally used to create a wide variety of objects. The collection conjures up the very essence of these woven fibres in an artisanal design with a warm, natural allure.

MARE by DSIGNIO features three models: one with volumes, one without and a third transitional model, combinable in endless different compositions. The tiles can be laid vertically or horizontally, taking advantage of their shapes, colours and light and shade to create settings with a smooth-feeling texture evocative of natural fibres. The collection comes in a 32x90 format in a choice of white, sand and silver.
